Week 4 – Project Life

Well this is actually another thing I ticked off my to-do list on Sunday – it has just taken me some time to catch up on the blog.  This was another of my Project Life Layouts from 2015 as well as being the last day of our Torbay holiday.

This was the day that we came back via the Butterfly and Otter Sanctuary and the steam trains.  I used the DIY Shop Value kit for this layout along with a wooden butterfly and a wooden otter button. Again I had a lot of photos that I wanted to show off – so I let them tell alot of the story and kept the embellishments simple.

This layout didnt take at all long to put together which made me remember why I enjoy project life so much.

Here is an update on my other crafting goals:

  • 2016 PL Layouts (1/1 so far)
  • 2015 PL Layouts (3/4 so far)
  • 0/1 Baking Project
  • 1/1 Knitting / Crotchet Project
  • 2 /2 General Card
  • 2/2 Christmas Cards
  • 29/31 MosaiCraft Squares Complete (I have done one bonus one).

Thanks for reading 🙂

January Week 2 – Birthday Card

So back at work this week and another busy week trying to fit everything in, plus being full of head cold and feeling quite poorly. But this week has seen my mothers birthday and therefore another card.  Here Birthday was actually the 13th but as she is not too close to me we didn’t see her until today hence the delay in sharing this card with you.  I actually made it at the same time as I made my mother – in -laws.

For this card I used the following from my stash:

  • 8″ Sq White Card Blank
  • Crafters Companion Pastel Pink Pearlescent Card Stock
  • Hunkydory Flutterbye Wishes Special Edition – Arranged with Love Topper & Sentiment
  • Wooden Butterflies (I cant remember where from)
  • Hobbycraft Black foam letters.
  • Purple Gemstones (I cant remember where from).

So here is the card:

January Week 1 – Birthday Card

So this week has been busy despite still being off work on leave. There just don’t seem to be as many hours in the day as are required. I have been busy de-cluttering the Kitchen … I think I am finally on the homewards straight with that (hopefully).  Today I have emptied all the cupboards under the counters with the aim of sorting there contents and putting it all away tomorrow.  Unfortunately I have not quite had enough time to do as much crafting as I have wanted.

I have however had time to make a Birthday card for my Mother – in – law.  It was her Birthday on Thursday and I have delayed writing this post for 2 reasons – 1. a lack of time to do it, and 2. to ensure that she didn’t see her card before we had given it too her.

For those of you who have been following me for a while may remember that my Mother – in – Law is a big fan of butterflies therefore obviously Butterflies feature in this card design.

I used the following Challenge as inspiration for this card:

For this card I used the following from my stash:

I hope you like my creation:

Challenge 20 – Birthday Card

I have a few challenges to post as it was a busy week of celebrations.  The first of these cards was a birthday card for a friend of ours.

I used the following challenges as inspiration for this card:

I used the following from my stash:

  • 8 x 8″ White Card Blank
  • Black / Blue Patterned Card (I cant remember where this came from)
  • Pearlescent Purple Card Stock
  • Lilac Card Stock
  • “Especially for you” sentiment
  • Blue adhesive gems
  • Blue ribbon
  • Metallic adhesive gems
  • Butterfly Digi Stamp – coloured using Promarkers

I enjoyed doing the butterfly all one colour just using some shading and blending to add some depth. I hope you enjoy my creation:

Challenge 19 – Photo

Well this is my first photo challenge…  I really should do more but find it difficult as I then tend to incorporate them into a project life layout and feel that’s a bit of double accounting.  This photo challenge I am sure will end up in my project life holiday layout … however as there will be so much more to those layouts that just these images I decided to share them as a photo challenge as well.

On the last day of our holiday earlier this month we stopped at the Dartmoor Otter and Buckfast Butterfly.  As Matt was using his 700D that we brought him for his Birthday I decided that I was going to use his 350D and have a play with some of the settings … I was determined I didn’t just want to use it in Auto.   I really enjoyed using the camera and I am really pleased with some of the butterfly photo’s I managed to achieve.  Because of this I found it too hard to just pick one to share with you … so here is a selection.

Challenge 1 – 50th Birthday Card

So I have managed to complete my 1st Challenge – there are 2 parts to this Challenge.

It is the Mother-In-Law’s 50th Birthday today so I have a birthday card for her and a “voucher” which forms part of her present.

Part 1 – Birthday Card

50th Birthday Card

Part 2 – Gift Voucher

As part of the Birthday Celebrations we are all going away for the weekend to a Sport, Craft and Spa hotel.  We decided as one of her birthday presents to buy her some “treatments” for the weekend. We have brought her:

  • 30 min Indian Head Massage
  • 60 min Luxury Manicure

Therefore I used Serif Card Artist to create a “voucher” for her outlining what we have booked for her.  I then mounted it on some of the Gold Card Stock I used in the card.  I hope you like it.

As the hotel we are staying at this weekend has lots of activities and crafts as well as trying my hand at a bit of archery, or rifle shooting.  I intend to do a bit of crafting – and maybe even try a new craft.  Keep a look out next week – might even use it as a Challenge craft or 2.
