Challenge 15 – Happy Birthday Bro

Well last week was another rather busy week both in work and at home – not helped by myself coming down with a horrible chesty cold and feeling very under the weather.  Therefore I am a bit late posting this one – it was a card I made last Sunday for my brothers birthday on Friday.

As I am a bit late in posting then obviously I am not entering this card for any competitions however – I did use the following challenges for inspiration in the generation of this card:

I used the following from my stash:

Challenge 13 – Bake

So as I had Friday off I decided to do a bit of baking.

I had picked up the latest Tesco magazine in the week and seen a recipe for Cinnamon Buns in it.  Both my hubby and I love Cinnamon and are big fans of Cinnamon buns so I decided to try my hand at some whilst he was at work.

I did change the recipe slightly and instead of using full fat milk in the recipe I used skimmed milk – I did this mainly because I didn’t have any full fat milk – but it does give a slightly lighter option to the bun as well.

Here is my finished result – and even if I am saying so myself they were very tasty.  I am looking forward to baking these again and perfecting the result.

Challenge 12 – Hubbys Birthday

Well I am a little bit late posting this card … I made it last Sat morning for the Hubby’s Birthday on Monday.  It has been a really busy week so I have not had a chance to post it but got a bit of time today as I am on Flexi leave from work 🙂

As I have mentioned before hubby is photography mad … and we clubbed together to get him a new camera (Canon 700d) for his birthday.  So I decided to have a photography theme to the card.  I got some new dies from Spellbinders – and couldn’t wait to use them.  I think they are also going to be great to use in Scrapbooks / Project Life.

I did use a a sketch from Mojo Monday Challenge for my entry.

Stash I used for this card:

  • A5 Craft Card Blank
  • Image printed on photo paper and cut using Spellbinders Polariod Die
  • Blue Core’dinations Super Assortment Card Stock cut suing Camera and “Cheese” Dies – sanded to distress a little
  • Lilac Core’dinations Super Assortment Card Stock cut using Quote Die – sanded to distress a little
  • Plain Black Card Stock cut using Film Strip Die
  • Blue adhesive gems

Here is the finished product …
